Affiliate program terms

These terms explain how commissions work for RedditAlert affiliate partners: how they are earned, how long they are held, and what happens when a referred customer is refunded. The RedditAlert affiliate program is currently invite only. If you have questions about your account or these terms, reply to any email we have sent you or write to the contact you were onboarded with.

How commissions are earned

You earn a commission on each payment a referred customer actually makes to RedditAlert. Commissions are calculated on the amount the customer paid, after any discounts and before tax. If a referred customer uses a discount code, your commission is a percentage of the discounted amount.

The 30-day holding period

Each commission is held for 30 days after the customer's payment before it becomes payable. This window exists because customers can request refunds, and a commission on money that was returned is not money we earned together.

Refunds and credit notes

If a customer's payment is fully refunded or fully credited back, the commission on that payment is reversed automatically, whether or not it has been paid out yet.

If a payment is partially refunded, nothing happens automatically. We review partial refunds by hand and decide case by case whether the commission stands, and we will tell you when a partial refund affects one of your commissions.

If a reversal happens after a payout

If a refund lands after we have already paid you the commission on that payment, the reversed amount is deducted from your next payout. We will never ask you to send money back; negative balances simply carry forward and net against future earnings.

Chargebacks

Payments lost to a card dispute (chargeback) are treated like full refunds, reviewed and applied by hand.
